Description: by Paul Laskowski and Jesse Anttila-Hughes
The Garden of Missed Connections examines the genesis of ourselves from that most fertile of resources: our personal connections. Wooden gates are arranged to define a quiet space for contemplation in the deep playa, and lit by an array of intricate lanterns that respond to the ambient soundscape. At the center of the Garden lies the Book of Missed Connections, an open roster of messages from burners to others with whom they’ve lost touch. The Garden celebrates fleeting moments of joy shared with strangers, loves long lost but never forgotten, and the power of viewing our lives through the eyes of others.
